Earthquake in Haiti Print

Pray for this nation which was gravely devastated by an earthquake that happened last Tuesday, 13th of January 2010.

With one of the highest population density in the world, Haiti has about 80 prcent of the population living below the poverty line and 54 percent in extreme poverty.

Pray so that the Lord, in His infinite mercy and love, can bring relief and comfort to so many families in pain. Even now, many children find themselves orphans or without homes.

Pray also for the countries and international organizations to rapidly and readily support our suffering brothers in their most urgent needs.

HOW TO HELP

The newspaper Público explains how to help in a dangerous situation and puts the network MIQUEIAS in the list of credible entities to send donations.

You can make your donation for emergency help through Challenge MIQUEIAS - 100% of the received donations received are sent to our partners who are in the field and are framed by the Statute of Tax Benefits, and the donor may use the benefit of Corporate Income Tax or income tax.

The World Evangelic Allianc (WEA), one of the international patrons of Challenge MIQUEIAS, recommends six Christian agencies as donation receivers. These entities were already in the field before the earthquake, hence having an easier time to interact in the stage of operations, reducing the costs of the operation: MAP, Medical Teams, Tearfund Salvation Army, World Relief and World Vision. Most of these organizations are members of the Network MIQUEIAS.
